About Dale Bryan, DJ/MC
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and my Custom Music Service. I am a Christian and Melbourne native, the owner of this small family business, and the sole Disc Jockey & Master of Ceremonies. I have been blessed to serve Brevard County and Central Florida since 1994. It's hard to believe it's been three decades now since I left radio broadcasting to start this exciting venture! Wow, time sure does fly when you're having fun!! It is truly my pleasure to provide a better and more personalized alternative in premium DJ/MC entertainment. The good Lord also blessed me with the greatest partner any performer could hope for… my dear, sweet wife, Wendy Marie. She really enjoys helping me with my labor of love. Her assistance with coordinating itineraries, taking requests, and leading the dancing are all crucial elements in our continued success and longevity. Together, we offer a level of service that is quite rare in this profession. Wendy & I put our names and reputation on the line every time we perform, going out of our way to ensure our clients are not just satisfied but completely delighted! We firmly believe that an unforgettable wedding or special event is only made possible by choosing the right service providers. You must feel comfortable with their personalities and confident in their abilities. Then you and your guests can simply relax and enjoy yourselves. Trusting experienced professionals who do what they love is absolutely essential.
Lifelong Disc Jockey
So what would make someone want to be a disc jockey anyway? Well, I'll try to sum it all up as briefly as I can, at least my take on it. I developed my strong passion for music at a very young age surrounded by a family of music lovers. I practiced DJing tirelessly throughout my youth by emulating my on-air heroes, like Casey Kasem and Dick Clark. My loving Mother (God rest her dear soul) bought me my first vinyl record player when I was only five years old. She sacrificed a lot of her own needs to see to it that I always had the latest stereo equipment, headphones, microphone, etc., along with an ever-increasing collection of music. In my early teens, she emboldened me to take the Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Communications and Human Relations, which helped me "break out of my shell" and get comfortable talking in front of an audience. Mom made sure that music was a big part of my education as well. Being a percussionist in symphonic and marching bands was the best part of my school years. She continually encouraged me to learn more, improve my skills, and enjoy every minute along the way. And so I dedicate this beautiful song to my Mother since she was always my biggest fan.
After high school, I kept on practicing my craft while studying music and communications at Florida State University. Then I enlisted in the US Air Force and received formal training in broadcast journalism with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (now the American Forces Network). My military life was short-lived though. Remember the lyrics Dan Fogelberg sang in his classic ballad Leader of the Band? "He tried to be a soldier once, but his music wouldn't wait." That was true for me too... Years later, I would finish earning my degree in Liberal Arts by becoming the first graduate of the University Alliance online program at Florida Institute of Technology.
I started performing for the public in 1985 and spent most of the next decade at several local radio stations. That real-world experience was invaluable, and I thoroughly enjoyed working as a Radio Announcer, Assistant Program Director, and Production Director. Then it was time to fulfill another dream and start my own mobile DJ business, which has given me so much joy and satisfaction ever since. To me, this kind of work is more than a way to earn a living. It is having fun expressing my God-given talents while making people happy, sharing in their celebrations with family and friends. It's the thrill I get when playing that perfect song at just the right moment. It's customizing a creative music mix for my clients and their guests. So, what kinds of music do most people like these days? Here are the Most Requested Songs at Weddings & Parties (updated annually via the DJ Intelligence music request system).
Mixing Old School With High Tech
My niche is stated in my slogan: Tasteful Tunes For The Time Of Your Life!™ That means you won't have to worry about hearing any offensive music during your event. I don't play hardcore rap, heavy metal, or any songs with explicit lyrics. I only play the best in clean, family-friendly music, including Contemporary Christian and other diverse genres. My library is tasteful, eclectic, and comprehensive, spanning more than a century of popular music. I've collected an unbelievable amount of songs through the years, from the earliest golden oldies to today's biggest chart-toppers. And they're played in the highest fidelity possible from superior-sounding compact discs and pro-grade CD players, not low-quality MP3 files auto-mixed with software from a laptop. Yes, I am still a true Disc Jockey, not a PCDJ. Why? Because I cherish the traditions of my craft, and I have always been an audio enthusiast, someone with a sincere devotion to the superb reproduction and presentation of music. Sure, you can call me "old school" if you want. I don't mind. I know I'm like those DJs who used to play vinyl records after compact discs became mainstream. I also know you, too, will hear the difference in the music when I unite that older but lossless digital format with the newest innovations in high-end audio electronics and sound reinforcement.
An integral part of that difference is my state-of-the-art Sound Systems. Since I specialize in small-scale weddings and events, I typically perform with my Compact Sound System. This popular option has plenty of volume for up to 150 people and oftentimes astonishes my audience! For bigger crowds, larger events, and more elaborate celebrations, my Primary Sound System definitely exceeds all expectations!! I can customize my setup for the size of the venue and the number of guests in order to optimize sound quality and volume level. I even have a small battery-powered sound system for remote locations with no electricity. But as most folks realize, having excellent sound systems and high-fidelity music does not guarantee great entertainment. It isn't just what is provided, but how and by whom. You must also have a seasoned performer who is mature, reliable, and polished. Rest assured, I have the expertise that only comes from working many years as a Disc Jockey and Master of Ceremonies. I won't just play the music you want to hear, but I will take care of all introductions and announcements during your event with class and grace. And I will interact with you and your guests as much or as little as you like. I know the highest compliment my clients can give is the referral of their family and friends. So I promise I will strive for your complete satisfaction.
Custom Pricing, No Cheese!
Unlike most other DJs, I do post my pricing information on my website... I don't advertise a bunch of confusing packages... and I won't try to upsell you on more than you want or need. What I will do is be fair, honest, and transparent. No, I am not the lowest-priced DJ/MC in our area, nor am I the most expensive. However, my Custom Music Service is an exceptional value because of my vast amount of experience and passionate enthusiasm, along with my meticulous attention to detail and earnest efforts toward perfection with every wedding and event I host. Going above and beyond is standard practice for me, and I usually put in at least 12 additional hours of work beyond my actual performance time. I'm happy to offer as much personalized planning and collaboration as you would like. Again, this is not a job I have to do, but one that I get to do. And as my Client Reviews all confirm, what my wife and I provide for you will be worth much more than your investment. Besides, you're getting a 2-for-1 deal with us, right?
Just like the music and sound, your exact price will be customized and based on exactly what you want. Not sure about that yet? No problem. Your initial price quote can certainly be modified later once you finalize your plans. You won't get a one-size-fits-all price from me, but you will receive one level of service... the best! No, I am not bragging. I'm just saying that the quality of my work doesn't depend on what you pay or how small or large your event will be. And I believe the best way to do business is to make your hiring decision as easy as possible.
I know that I am not the right choice for everyone. Not every client is meant to be my client, and I'm fine with that. In fact, I would rather decline to perform for an event than take a chance of disappointing anyone and jeopardizing my reputation. Also, if you happen to like a cheesy type of Disc Jockey (think goofy glasses, inflatable props, and silly games), then you probably won't care for my unpretentious demeanor. My ego is fully in check, and I don't crave being the center of attention. I won't talk too much, or even at all if that's what you want, and I certainly won't try to turn your event into a comedy show. I prefer to let my clients be the stars of their own wedding or party, while Wendy & I assist in making the occasion memorable for all the right reasons. Remember, my slogan is Tasteful Tunes For The Time Of Your Life!™ I'm quite content to leave the cheese to those other usually lower-priced DJs who have their niche to fill. And I don't offer all the extra "fluff" some DJs do (e.g., photo booth, fancy uplighting, etc.). As elite Chefs limit their menus, I know that limiting my offerings is a key factor in ensuring better quality control. Some call it "focused excellence."
I am also aware that some people have a strict budget and may have difficulty affording my services. If money is all that matters and you are only shopping around for the cheapest DJ you can find, then you might want to look elsewhere. But hopefully, you realize that like other services, you get what (or who) you pay for. It is widely known that entertainment often plays the most significant role in the success of a sensational event. So you should invest accordingly and not base such a critical decision on cost alone. Are you determined to find the highest quality DJ/MC entertainment in Central Florida? Do you want a husband & wife team who is conscientious and trustworthy and truly cares about helping to create a classy celebration that is everything you envision? If you answered yes to those questions, then we should talk as soon as possible since our availability is limited. After all, Wendy & I only have a specific number of open dates on our calendar. And since Wendy runs her mobile massage business as well, our schedules always fill up quickly! Like everyone, time is our most precious asset, and we gratefully choose to spend many of our days and nights performing our labors of love.
Check out the local vendors and venues I personally recommend and feel free to contact me anytime to discuss your event. We can even meet together in person, if you want, to make sure I'm the right DJ for you and you're the right client for me. No charge, no pressure, and no hard feelings if we find out we’re not. Once I understand everything you want, and you can see all that I have to offer, then you'll be able to make the best hiring decision possible. And of course, you will gain the peace of mind that comes from knowing you definitely picked the right one.
Thanks again for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing all about your special event.
Peace & Blessings,
Dale Bryan
